• Cowen's Corner-Mortgage Market Update: A Full House and a Quiet Week for Rates

    Apr 27, 2026

Greetings from Casa de Cowen. My heart is full and the chaos is real. Both kids were home for the weekend. Brendan did not travel to Pittsburgh with the team, so he is home, and Madison and Pete had a show at Morven Park last Sunday, so she came home as well. You do not realize how relaxing empty nesting is until they come back.Full Story

Good Morning from Casa de Cowen. It felt good to be home for a Friday baseball game and I got a little nostalgic about this time of year. I am about to date myself, but bear with me. My wife and I started dating in the fall of 1997. The MCI Center, now Capital One Arena, had just opened and that spring, spring of 1998, the first round of March Madness was held there. A few, or maybe more than a few, of my college buddies and I got tickets. This region played Thursday and Saturday.Full Story
