BCTCares Foundation and Its Local Backpack Program Partners Launch Annual "Pack the 'Pack" Campaign to Raise $100,000 to Feed Local Food-Insecure Children

Charles Town, WV, July 1, 2025 /PR Newswire/ – BCTCares Foundation, a nonprofit founded by BCT-Bank of Charles Town and its employees, recently announced the launch of its annual Pack the ‘Pack funding campaign in support of local backpack food programs for food-insecure children. This year’s Pack the ‘Pack campaign has a goal of raising $100,000 to feed over 6,000 local children during the summer break and on school weekends for the 2025-2026 school year.

Fundraising will be from July 1 through August 31.  Monetary donations will be accepted at all BCT branch locations and online.  For a list of branches, visit www.mybct.bank/locations/.  Online donations can be made by visiting www.mybct.bank/about/bctcares/.     

Alice Frazier, President and CEO of BCT, stated, “Pack the ‘Pack was started in 2019 by our employees upon discovering local children were facing food-insecurity on a regular basis.  Unfortunately, the need has become more pronounced, especially with food prices impacted by recent inflationary pressures.  With the generosity of our local neighbors, clients, vendors, and employees, we have surpassed our goals each year.  This year we have a goal of raising $100,000 to feed over 6,000 local children.  With the help of our community, I’m confident we will surpass that goal.”

For the Pack the ‘Pack campaign, BCTCares is continuing its partnership with four local backpack food charities who purchase and distribute food using the funds donated.  These local backpack programs have partnered with BCT from the beginning of the Pack the ‘Pack program.  They are:
