BCT-Bank of Charles Town Awards $257,750 In College Scholarships To Local High School Students

CHARLES TOWN, WV, June 17, 2022 / (OTC:PTBS) – BCT-Bank of Charles Town, also known as The Community’s Bank, recently announced scholarship awards for: Robert “Bob” F. Baronner, Jr. Scholarship, Robert W. McCormick Full Ride Scholarships, Jeffrey L. Pierce Memorial Scholarship, Tom Mentzer Scholarships, and S. Katherine Boxwell & Edwin P. Churchill Scholarships. As Trustee for the scholarships, BCT awarded $257,750 to local high school students to attend college.

The annual Robert "Bob" F. Baronner Jr. Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Olivia B. Grove of Musselman High School, in the amount of $10,000, or $2,500 for 4 years. Olivia plans on attending the Shepherd University.  This scholarship was established in memory of BCT’s former President five years ago and has awarded $50,000 to local students seeking higher educations.

Two students were selected to receive the prestigious Robert W. McCormick Full Ride Scholarships:

  • Marcia K. Robinson – Jefferson High School/WVU/$80,000
  • Gabriela Rodriguez – Jefferson High School/WVU/$80,000 

Jeffrey L. Pierce Memorial Scholarship 
$1,000 (one-time amount):

  • James P. Williams – Washington High School/Shepherd University

Tom Mentzer Scholarships 
$250 each (one-time amount):

  • Addie LaBombard – Jefferson High School/Clarion University 
  • Cierra Yates – Washington High School/Shepherd University
  • Gabrielle Wright – Washington High School/Virginia Tech
  • James P. Williams – Washington High School/Shepherd University
  • Jessica Fuss – Jefferson High School/WVU
  • Rylee Brown – Jefferson High School/WVU 
  • Samantha Fridley – Jefferson High School/Shepherd University

S. Katherine Boxwell & Edwin P. Churchill Scholarships
Total $85,000.00:

  • Averi J. Bishop – Martinsburg High School/$250 annually for 4 years/Alderson-Broaddus University
  • Jacqueline E. Cooper - Hedgesville High School/$3,000 annually for 4 years/WVU
  • Madison F. Corbin – Hampshire High School/$250 annually for 4 years/WVU
  • Erica B. Foreman – East Hardy High School/$4,000 annually for 4 years/Shepherd University
  • Jadyn Hartman – Petersburg High School/$1,000 annually for 4 years/WVU
  • Emma C. Higgins – Musselman High School/$250 annually for 4 years/WVU
  • Edith B. Kao - Spring Mills High School/$3,000 annually for 4 years/Virginia Tech
  • Ryan A. McRobie – Keyser High School/$3,000 annually for 4 years/Potomac State College
  • Kaelyn A. Pavlick – Washington High School/$250 annually for 4 years/WVU
  • Aiden M. Sensabaugh – Frankfort High School/$3,000 annually for 4 years/Shepherd University
  • Veronica L. VanMeter – Moorefield High School/$250 annually for 4 years/Shepherd University
  • Austin S. Young – Jefferson High School/$3,000 annually for 4 years/WVU
